FRAMING SYSTEMS
Traditional Frames: Most of the frames used on my mixed media collages and paintings are black wooden frames like the one pictured below in the first three photos. There is no glass or mat. But some frames may be different, such a metal frame, or other kinds of wooden frames. Most art is on boards and the varnish finishes vary (some are glossy, some are matte).
Framing System on the Back: Some of my work will have a different framing system located on the back of the art board. The bottom three photos show one example.
Unframed: Some work is unframed. For example, my watercolors, colored pencil work and pastels do not come with frames. I recommend framing them with a mat and glass (acrylic is also fine for watercolors). Mixed media work or paintings that are unframed are noted as such.
